Special Projects
Sometimes I get an opportunity to do a few special projects that involve making pens. These are generally voluntary group projects sponsored by The International Association of Pen Turners (IAP), of which I am a proud member, and other organizations.

Pinto Horse Association of America, Inc.
JC Wood Pens recently had the pleasure of doing a special pen for the Pinto Horse Association of America. The rollerball is made from deer antler, the hardware is black titanium. This pen sold at a PTHA auction for $1,200 as a fund raiser item. A laser engraved maple box was included. The pen body had the Pinto Horse script on the lower barrel, and a special feather design on the upper body.

The Service Pens Project by IAP
Each year IAP sponsors, promotes and helps with distribution of pens made by members to our US service men serving in other countries. The goal for 2013 was 2,000 pens. All of the hardware, wood, materials, etc. is donated by individual pen makers and suppliers. Some make just a few, others make many more. The pens to the left are made from Birch, recycled Maple gym floor, Cherry and Paldao woods. All shown were donated by JC Wood Pens.
